Open for Business
The sawmill is now open for business and ready to receive customers. Our primary goal is to produce lumber for the making of shipping pallets for the fruit companies in Davao. We will be using mainly Gemelina logs at first then expand to other planted species in the near future.
It has been a long and hard road getting to this point, but now the farmers in our area will have a place to sell their trees and the fruit companies will have another supplier.
In the very near future we will be starting back on our other projects for the area. The gas station will probably be the next to get all our attention, and then the Ice plant.
It is our hope that these projects will bring much needed job opportunities for the people in our community. Presently during the start-up phase of the sawmill we have 8 employees, but that number will go up steadily as we work out all the minor little problems with equipment. We plan to someday have around 40 employees at the sawmill and another 15 in Panabo at the assembly area.
